The designer Ingegerd Råman
The designer and potter Ingegerd Råman is one of Swedens most renowned and appreciated designers. With her timeless, pronounced and simple lines she has, since 1968, shaped a unique idiom and a world of glass. A large part of her production is centered on objects meant to be used every day, glasses, pitchers and bowls. One of her central ideas is that a beautifully laid table can enhance the experience of a meal as such. If beauty is allowed to enhance the context of food, the food will taste better. By consistently asserting the beauty of simplicity and the transparency of glass she has won international renown and is now represented in private homes where design is in focus as well as in Swedish embassies world wide. Her work has given her a number of awards as well as the title of professor, appointed by the Swedish government in 1995.
